BEST APARTMENT

WHAT IS THE BEST APARTMENT TO LIVE IN?

What is the best apartment to live in?

If you are going to buy a new or used home and you have already decided that you want an apartment but you do not know which is the best apartment, here we will tell you the advantages and disadvantages of some of them so that you can choose the one that is right for you.

Before talking about each of the floors, it is important that you keep in mind that everything will depend on each particular situation because it is not the same if you live alone, as a couple or if you have children and/or pets. Also, if you live with someone of the third age or with any disabling condition.

Buy on the top floors

The top floors, especially if the building has a penthouse or terraces, are the most desirable.

These offer the best view, more natural light (because they receive more sun), they have no neighbours above – so you will not have noise coming from the other floor – and they are further from the noise of the street. They are usually sought out by young couples.

However, they also have disadvantages. One of them is that its cost is higher -because the higher the floor, the greater the value- as if it has interior, exterior or 360 views.

On the other hand, they are more exposed to extreme temperatures, that is, if it is very sunny they will be hotter, but if it is very cold they will also feel very cold.

In addition, in some cases, they may have water leaks through the roofs. And, if it is very tall, you will always need to use the elevator or you will go up a lot of stairs.

Buy on the first floors

Actually, these floors are the least desired. However, there are families who prefer them to avoid climbing stairs or using the elevator. In some cases, they like it if they offer a terrace, patio or garden.

In general, the first floors are cheaper and easily accessible, for example, when it comes to fretting is a great advantage.

As for disadvantages, they are more exposed to street noise, they have neighbours above that can also produce noise, they have greater visibility both from inside the complex and from outside (so you should have good curtains for more privacy).

Also, for safety, you need to install bars on the windows. And they get less natural light and less sun, so they tend to be humid, cold, and in some cases dark.

Buy in intermediate floors

These are great for any type of family. If you choose the highest ones, you will have similar advantages to the last floors such as: greater light, better view and less noise from the street.

But, they also have their own advantages and disadvantages:

They are more protected from the temperatures since they do not receive the heat or the cold at all.

You can interact more with the neighbours, although you will feel the noises from the apartments above.
